Preparation of plastics for liquid 3D printing

Additive manufacturing has very quickly established itself in a number of pioneer industries such as the automotive industry, medical technology and the consumer goods industry, where it fully complements traditional manufacturing methods. Companies use 3D printing technology to benefit from the many economic advantages it offers – e.g. increased productivity and cost reductions – but also for its variety of methods and materials that can be used.

Processing plastics for 3D printing with eldomix
DOPAG offers special metering and mixing systems for various 3D liquid printing processes. In the SLA (Stereolithography) and DLP / DLS (Digital Light Processing) processes, the dosing system eldomix precisely meters and mixes two-part materials based on epoxy resin, polyurethane, acrylic or silicone. The prepared material is then manually or automatically filled into the material reservoir of the 3D printer.

In the Stereolithography, the liquid material is converted into solid layer by layer in a process called photopolymerisation. This means that the product is selectively cured by the means of a light source - usually a laser moving on the X and Y axis. SLA is often used in the manufacture of 3D models, prototypes, samples and production parts in various industries, such as prototyping, dental technology, jewellery and modelling. DLP / DLS, on the other hand, uses a digital UV light source to project a singular image of each layer onto the entire platform.

DOPAG systems are already widely used by renowned manufacturers using the additive manufacturing process. Our experts are actively involved in the industry and are able to give DOPAG customers an up-to-date, application-oriented solution at all times.
